Well, it's Sunday and I'm busy compiling the lists of the runners on their way to the Valleys this week. It promises to be an exciting race, so get ready to run!
Here's the information for this week's race:
We leave at 8:50am on Tuesday, October 25th. Please see your first block teacher for attendance and homework and then proceed directly to the front foyer, dressed and ready to go. It looks like it will be sunny, but cool. Be sure to bring clothes to keep you warm and dry. I'll have a duffle bag to store your clothes in when you race. Bring a lunch, water, and some snacks for mid-morning and the ride home. Here are the start times so you can plan accordingly:
The girls' race starts at 11:30am, and the boys' race starts at 12:10pm.
The Valleys are also the race that determines who can attend the Provincials. The Provincials are in Kelowna this year, and the date is November 5th. To qualify, you need to be among the top 3 teams in your division or the top 20 individuals.
If you qualify for the provincials, I need to know if you plan to go before we leave Salmon Arm on Tuesday. We have to pay a non-refundable $15 deposit to register each runner for that race, so please speak with your parents before Tuesday so you know your answer if you should qualify.
