Here is my morning announcement from today!
In the wind, rain, and waves of Jericho Beach, the RSS Cross-Country team stepped on to the provincial stage with some very impressive results for our school.
Running against 240 athletes from every school in the province, Maya Royle and Meya Musseau both cracked the top 30 as individuals. Their teammates, Lutza Berkenbosch and Willow Brown followed close behind and these four girls' combined times earned them an 8th Place Team result, only 2 seconds back from a 6th place finish.
In the Senior Girls' category, 233 athletes ran a 5km course and Julia Mersmann and Viola Stauch fought through the rain and mud to cut that field in half. Maeve MacLeod, our reigning Okanagan Valley Champion, turned in a stunning 18th place finish to top off another fantastic showing for RSS at the Provincial Championships.
