Tuesday was another beautiful day for cross-country running, and RSS continues to exert a major presence in the Okanagan Valley. Our athletes traveled to Stake Lake to compete against over 230 athletes from around our region. Micah Jacob and Kolibri Drobish were the sole competitors in their categories. Micah took 61st in the Junior Boys and Kolibri made it to the podium as the 3rd place Senior Girl in the Valley. Congratulations Kolibri and well done Jacob!
The big story on the day was Alexandra Luxmoore’s continued dominance of the Junior Girl’s category. It is Alexandra’s first year in high school competition, and she remained undefeated in our fall race series and was crowned the Valley Champion for 2018, winning the the 4km race in a time of 17:38. With Jaclyn Elliot following close behind in 9th, Fia Cameron in 10th, Zoe Larson in 17th, and Cedar Cameron-Harding in 34th place, the RSS Junior Girls came home with the 2nd Place Rosette and a performance to be proud of.

We’ll have a Friday 5k this week and I’ll need jerseys back from any runner not heading on to the Provincials.
